Woke up this morning feeling much better not swaying around everywhere we can now walk straight again after the movement of the train for a day. Leaving Wellington at 10.05am nice day partly overcast. Flight should take about an hour. We have checked in now waiting. Our plane was changed to a A320 Airbus as the flight to Timaru was cancelled and they had to come to Christchurch with us. We were booked on some smaller propeller plane which was going to take about an hour whereas the bigger one only took about half an hour so arrived into Christchurch a little early. Got a taxi and went straight to the Maui motor home office. Our van is a lot smaller than we usually have had from previous trips but as we were only going to be away for two weeks we went smaller. Bit of a tight squeeze but it will be fine..
Drove to Hanmer Springs for the first night to get unpacked and settled in. It’s so hot trying to organise everything so leaving it to later on when it’s cooler. Only one night here then off over Lewis Pass tomorrow to Greymouth.
Weather could be wet but who knows. Hopefully it will pass through tonight.
